Navigating Food Security In The Face Of Climate Change
The recent droughts in the Sub-Saharan region have severely impacted crop yields, jeopardizing the livelihoods of farmers and compromising food security, particularly in Zambia. Addressing this critical issue, the capstone project examines food insecurity in the context of climate change, emphasizing the urgent need for effective climate mitigation strategies in our predominantly agrarian society. By analyzing the effects of drought on agriculture and food systems, the project aims to develop sustainable approaches that can reduce the adverse impacts of climate change. This focus is essential for enhancing the resilience of local communities, ensuring economic stability, and promoting long-term food security in Zambia. Ultimately, the project highlights the importance of proactive climate action to support vulnerable populations and maintain their livelihoods.
